BREAD –
a small shop: left out of house, right onto main street, left
immediately after church tower ‘Via Leone Amici’.
A very small shop on the left, lower down. Easily mistaken for a private
house.
Alternative: the ‘crai’ supermarket on the right as you leave the
village via the main gate.
SHOPPING – various grocery shops, including the ‘crai’ shop.
Another can be found by turning right out of house, left at 1st
junction, down the road to the small square.
On right is shop. On left is a bar.
Fruit/Veg: can be found by turning left out of house, onto main street,
turn left & shop is on right.
Butcher: 1) Right on main street, down the dip & back up again. It’s on
the right here, past another small bar.
2) Left on main street, down near main gate.
Fish: also on main street, turn left & it’s on the left near the main
gate near the other butcher.
SUPERMARKETS: - ‘crai/coal’ – small local shop in village.
‘conad’: 1k approx. on main road to Senigallia.
Larger ‘hyper markets’ in Senigallia (cityper; ipercoop) & in Ancona.
BARS – 2 already mentioned. 3rd is right along main street, up
the rise at the far end & it’s on the left – ‘piccolo bar’. The 2 other
bars are also ‘tabacchi’.
RESTAURANTS – the ‘Taverna Del Corso’ serves excellent food. Very
reasonably priced. Meal for 2 approx £25 (3 courses with wine). Situated
on the main street – turn right at the bottom of Via Don Minzoni, the
restaurant is on the right about 200 yards along.
The ‘hotel de’ conti’ is half a mile up the hill – turn left at the
traffic lights in front of the town gates.
Apparently it serves excellent local fish, but we haven’t tried it yet.
BINS – currently the commune is experimenting with recycling.
Grey bin for non-recyclable, collected once a week on Tuesday. Brown for
'organics', collected three times a week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
Bins to be left outside the front door the night before.
PARK – small park within easy walking distance. Also small play
area with swings etc.
SWIMMING POOL – there is a local swimming pool, a 10 minute drive
from the village, however we cannot comment as we have never used it –
we tend to travel the short distance to the beautiful beach at
Senigallia.
WALKS – the surrounding area offers beautiful scenery for the
walker.
BEACH – arguably the best beach along this stretch of the
Adriatic coast is the ‘Spiaggia de Veluto’ at Senigallia, a
20min
drive from the village.
